NEBOSH Construction Certificate Course in Leeds, Yorkshire

Duration: 10 days if you have successfully completed the Management Paper of the NEBOSH General Certificate. If not it is 15 days

Who is the Construction Certificate course for?

The Certificate is designed for people who have an involvement in construction work & need to provide advice on health, safety & welfare in construction work.

Learning Outcomes of the NEBOSH Construction Certificate

At the end of the course you should be able to:

Understand the main requirements and application of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007.
Understand the factors to consider when carrying out a site assessment; identify construction activity hazards, assess the risks and recommend control measures.
Identify the hazards & and outline appropriate control measures in the following areas: movement of people & vehicles, manual & mechanical handling, work equipment, electrical, chemical & biological, physical & psychological, working at height, excavation work & confined spaces & demolition.
Successfully carry out a safety inspection of a construction workplace identifying hazards, recommending control measures and preparing a management report

Certification

Delegates are awarded the Certificate on successful completion of one 2-hour written paper and a practical assessment which involves safety monitoring of a construction site and the production of a formal report under examination conditions.

By Car

From the West M62

Leave the M62 at Junction 27 and join the M621 signed for Leeds City Centre>
Leave the M621 at Junction 2 (brown signs for Headlingley Stadium) and take the first exit off at the roundabout.
Point 3 - At the next roundabout go straight on following signs for the A58M and A660 towards Skipton.
Take the sliproad at the first sign for A460 Skipton and stay in the left-hand lane (the road slightly forks to the right.)
On reaching a set of traffic lights opposite is Woodhouse Lane Post Office, turn right.
Continue on this road (A660) driving straight on past the University Building on the left.
Continue straight on through the traffic lights and drive through Hyde Park (green area on the left and right).
Continue straight on at the next set of lights.
Drive straight on towards the town of Headlingley with shops and bars on the left and right hand sides, stay on this road and drive straight on at all sets of traffic lights.
When leaving Headlingley, shortly afterwards there is a BP petrol station on the left hand side, continue on this road and look for the Yorkshire Water buildings on the right.
The Village Hotel & Leisure Club is the next entrance after Yorkshire Water on the right.

From the East M62

Leave the M62 Junction 29 and join the M1 Northbound.
The M1 merges into the M621 towards Leeds City Centre
Leave the M621 at Junction 2 and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout (brown signs for Headlingley Stadium).
Follow directions as above from the Point 3 travelling from the West M62.

From the South M1

Leave the M1 at Junction 43 following the signs for the M621 Leeds City Centre
Leave M621 at Junction 2 and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout (brown signs for Headlingley Stadium).
Follow directions as above from Point 3 travelling West from the M62.

From the North M1

Leave the M1 at Junction 46
Take the A6120 ring road signed towards Bradford, Skipton and Keeds/Bradford Airport.
At the next seven roundabouts fo straight on.
At the eighth roundabout turn left, following signs for Headlingley and Leeds City Centre.
Follow the road round to the left and the Village Hotel & Leisure Club is immediately on the left-hand side.

By Rail

Leeds main line station is situated 3 miles from the hotel. A regular service runs to and from Leeds to London Kings Cross and the journey time is approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. Taxis are available at Leeds station for the short journey to the Village Hotel & Leisure Club.
